I’ve been hearing a great many rumblings recently from folks who are having difficulty finding suitable graduate or undergraduate programs in green design. With sustainability playing an increasingly larger role in the global marketplace, the number of viable programs is exploding. Now it’s just a matter of sifting through the mountains of information and finding the right fit. Some noteworthy institutions are as follows:
Boston Architectural College Carnegie Mellon University University of Texas at Austin Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies University of Minnesota Center for Sustainable Building Research University of Oregon Ecological Design Center Texas A&M University Georgia Tech If you’re looking for a comprehensive guide that includes comparative charts, lists of schools and continuing education programs, publicly available programs, and more, Ecological Design and Building Schools: Green Guide to Educational Opportunities in the United States and Canada, by Sandra Leibowitz Early, is a good place to start. Are you searching for the right sustainable design curriculum? Do you have any recommendations or warnings you’d like to share? Give us your two cents. |
